Shortlist Dating Limited (‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’ )  collect information only where it is necessary for us to carry out our matchmaking services or for purposes directly related to those services , such as:

• Name, age, gender, contact details

• Lifestyle, preferences, relationship goals

• Application form responses and discovery call notes

• Feedback after dates.

We may also collect basic website data (IP address, browser type, page visits) to improve our site experience. We don’t use cookies for ads or track you across other sites.

2. How We Use It

We only use your personal information for the purposes set out in this policy, or for any other purpose authorised by you or permitted by law. Your information helps us:

• Assess suitability for our services

• Recommend and introduce potential matches

• Manage your profile in Shortlist Dating database

• Contact you about matches or updates

• Improve our services.

3. Sharing Your Information

We will never share your details publicly. We only share:

• Basic, profile-style info with a potential match (with your consent)

• Your phone number with a match once you’ve agreed to be introduced

• Limited info with secure third-party services (e.g. payment platforms, CRM, email tools).

We never sell, rent, or trade your data.

4. Using Insights & Anonymous Data

We may use aggregated, anonymised information or non-identifiable quotes you share with us (for example, feedback or general dating insights) for reporting, marketing, or media purposes.

We will never include details that could identify you personally.

This helps us share trends, insights, and success stories about modern dating in New Zealand – without compromising anyone’s privacy.

5. Storing Your Information

We store data securely on trusted platforms (e.g. Microsoft 365, our CRM). Access is restricted to authorised team members only. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure, however if you supply personal information over the internet, you accept that provision is at your own risk. 

We keep your data only as long as needed to deliver services or as required by law.

6. Your Rights (NZ Privacy Act 2020)

You have the right to:

• Access the information we hold about you

• Request corrections

• Withdraw consent or request deletion (unless we must retain data legally).
